Lincolnshire Showground’s recent survey indicates that approximately £4 million is generated by the Lincolnshire Show for the county’s economy.

Figures provided by Lincolnshire Agricultural Society show that an astounding £4,372,500 is the overall expected spend across the county during the two-day show.

This year the Lincolnshire Showground adapted their annual survey, in conjunction with University of Lincoln, to allow them to calculate how much the Lincolnshire Show impacts visitor spend in the county.

The survey included visitors’ own estimated spend on accommodation, food and drink, travel, other attractions and shopping when attending the Lincolnshire Show. Based on 1,176 responses, it is estimated that £4,617 is spent on accommodation, £12,547 on food and drink, £15,750 on travel, and £1,216 on other local attractions.

This is great news for the Lincolnshire economy and cements the knowledge that events are a key factor in driving growth and raising awareness.

Around 60,000 people visit The Lincolnshire Show annually. The Lincolnshire Show showcases over 600 traders, some of the best local produce, and runs over two days in June organised by The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society.

Lincolnshire Showground is a major national venue, only 4.5 miles from the City Centre, sitting on 270 acres of land. As a versatile events venue, the Showground welcomes conferences and events of all sizes from small committee meetings to multi-thousand visitor music events. There are a range of flexible meeting spaces in the eco-friendly Epic Centre, while The Exhibition Hall is ideal for trade events and exhibitions.
