Gainsborough Old Hall is a large, late-medieval manor house built by the noble Burgh family around 1460. Regularly described as a “hidden gem in Lincolnshire” this exciting visitor attraction offers a variety of events and exhibitions. The Old Hall is one of the most impressive and best preserved, medieval manor houses in England.
The Old Hall is available to hire for a range of activities including meetings, canapé receptions, dinner dances and private views. There is a range of rooms to suit all occasions and group sizes.
The West Range
This room offers a welcoming and relaxed setting with original fireplaces and exposed Tudor beams.
The Steward’s Room
Set above the Great Medieval Kitchen, this charming room features a large window and ornate fireplace which reflect its original use as a room of high status.
The Upper Great Chamber
Suited for larger occasions, the Upper Great Chamber was used as a ballroom in the 19th Century. Access to this room is via a spectacular, spiral staircase and across a picturesque gallery.
The Great Hall
The 15th Century hall features an impressive, ornate, wooden ceiling and its original medieval features are complemented by a striking, stone bay window.
Medieval Kitchen
One of the finest surviving kitchens from the late medieval era. A truly unique space for a canapé reception.
Chambers Coffee Shop
Also available to hire for meetings or lectures.
